Any experiences with clear damons and staining

Before I got the clear damons on my teeth I asked several times, more than one assistant/hygienist and the dentist....do these things stain?

I was told no by everyone. Okay the glue can stain...thats why we're cleaning it up and making it so neat....


But, I have one front central incisor where the bracket is definetely getting darker than the other ones.

I will admit, I am an evil smoker. Horrible addiction it is. My other minor offenses are green tea and massive doses of pepsi. I'm not so much into wine or curry or any of the other major stain groups. I think if anything, its the cigarettes. Hence the one darker bracket. To make matters worse, I have white white teeth. They are naturally that way and I have kept them super white through whitening and intensive oral hygiene. So the one discolored bracket is really starting to bother me.

To get to the point...my clear damon peoples....Any staining? Did they lie to me? Any smokers out there with any experience would especially help.

I wore Damon 3, the half clear half metal brackets for 2 years. I am an avid wine drinker and had absolutely no issues with staining.

I just wanted to say that if you are going to go through jaw surgery you really need to quit smoking or you run the risk of major infections and non union of the healing bone (meaning the surgery will fail). Have you had a consult with a surgeon yet? Because I don't think you'll find one to operate on you if you continue to smoke.

Foods will not stain your damons. Smoking will almost definitely "coat" them.

I am about a year and a half from surgery. I fully realize that I will have to quit smoking in order to have surgery. I have quit in the past for other major surgery and will have to again. Not a problem ever in Canada, you can't smoke anywhere ( including in your own car if you have pets or kids or in your home, yep the Canadian government in Ontario has a law for that) Where it becomes really hard is that we spend our winters in the Dominican, you can smoke anywhere there! So I started again. I have other major surgery coming up. All elective. I am hoping by staying in Canada this winter and having to smoke outside I will get it done and over with. Nothing like forty below and a huge snow drift to make you quit!

I'm not that old, but I remember my mother smoking in the hospital while I had my tonsil's out. How times have changed!
