Newbie-Wax Suggestions, Eating Suggestions

Hi all! I am new to this board-read over it before getting braces, and found it VERY helpful! Got braces Thursday, August 12th-clear on top, regular metal on the bottom. Was told I will need a maxillary expansion surgery.

So far, I haven't had bad pain, but I do have a sore on my mouth. I tried the silicone that they gave me a sample of, but it doesn't even stick on my mouth. What types of wax do you guys like?

Also am not having a lot of success with the Superfloss. I have small teeth and a small mouth. Any other ideas?

The most annoying thing-when I attempt to eat, A LOT of food is stuck. Like stuck between my gum and my cheek, stuck between my teeth-I feel like a chipmunk!

Literally have to extract like a tablespoon or so of food chunks-some 1/2 inch in diameter. I tried swishing and swallowing, but it doesn't help.

So I am eating and feeling like a squirrel, then I go to the bathroom and swipe with my finger, brush and use a Christmas Tree brush-but it still doesn't feel clean unless I use the waterpik with 4 refills of water!

Also my mouth is making SO much saliva it's disgusting. I know it's normal, but does it ever get better?

Is this normal??!! Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Free wax from orthodontist.
I find normal floss is ok but treads starts to build up in my brackets... super floss is really dry and raw I feel...

I have read that your brackets must be completely dry for the silicone wax to adhere properly.

Glide threader floss works really well for tight teeth.
