Hi, everyone!

I've been braced for 9 days now, and while I love the fact that my mouth doesn't feel like it's been bashed into a wall anymore, I'm a little worried that it means nothing's moving.

Does anyone know what's going on when our mouths aren't sore?

Your mouth has adjusted to the pressure, the pressure is still there though and things are still moving.

I agree with the previous post. The sore will come back and forth. There will be days where your teeth will sore and days where you won't feel anything.

Oh, good. Thanks for the info! This is such a slow process, and I'm not very good at delayed gratification. It's good to know that something is most likely going on at all times!

I always wonder if things are moving when it stops hurting, the trouble is i end up looking everyday so i don't notice much difference myself!

So very true. I am still experiencing this. Can go days without any soreness or pain anywhere and bam out of the blue one day several teeth are hurting and sore.


No instant gratification with this process. It's a slow one which is okay with me because I don't want any damage to my teeth.

Thanks everyone,I myself was wondering the same thing.I think I read on here somewhere that the first couple of months is when the most movement happens?

Particularly with the early wires made of NiTi, your teeth are constantly moving even though there is no soreness. There is an initial period of soreness during the biological process when the root of the tooth is pushing against the bone. With constant light forces, the discomfort goes away, and tooth movement still occurs.

I feel worst when I elastic band is out.

My teeth have barely hurt at all and I've had them for around 4 months. There's been a lot of movement though, so I guess I'm lucky!

I haven't had a lot of pain at all so far. But I am also impatient and I keep asking the ortho when they will put powerchains on the top teeth, the gaps that have formed are driving me nuts!

I had an adjustment today and it didn't hurt at all. The teeth on the right side feel tight, but it's not painful.
