I use Photobucket and have had no problems uploading my photos there.
I think admin wants users to post photos and not the links to photos and all should be ok.

Thank you, Electric Rose!
Photobucket is soooo easy to use. I especially like the "Wrinkle Remover" feature that I sometimes use to fool my friends into thinking I don't age.
Chrystal is right - they prefer you post the actual photos here because when you post links, it's easier for sites to get infected by viruses (or something like that).

Is there a way to post html code here.
I have TONS of pics on other sites (for dentists) that I could post here and there is a tab to get the code so I dont have to upload to another site -- get the tag (or whatever it is called) and then post here.

i'm against photobucket, after a while your picture disappears for bandwidth reasons
use imageshack

Oh my goodness - is this true? How long is "after a while"? Months? A year? Is it best to not post too many pics in your account, or does it not matter how many you have in there?

It's called BBCODE special html for the forum, same idea. When you post you'll see the IMG button above in the editor here. It creates the tags e.g.
instert the address (url) inbetween there (make sure the first tag and last tag are snug right next to the address otherwise it will appear broken e.g.
Code: Select all
[img]http://www.addresssomewhere.com/image.jpg[/img]
Click the IMG button above once, it will post the [ img ] then paste the address then click the IMG button again and it will post the closing tag [ /img ]
Quickest way is paste the address of the image, the click the mouse over it and highlight (select) the entire address (so it's all blue), then simply click the IMG button once. It will wrap the address in the img tags on one shot.
If the site(s) already have it setup where you can select from a variety of coded links for forums, the one you want is the one with the square brackets and with the direct image link (ends with .jpg or other), just copy that whole thing and paste it and you're good to go.
Code: Select all
[img]http://www.addresssomewhere.com/image.jpg[/img]

Really? That's weird, because I have photos on my Photobucket that I uploaded over 5 years ago that are still there and fine, infact all my pictures on there have never disappeared and some have been on there for over 5 years.

I think what is meant is the pics are not seen from the viewer's end. Not that they are physically deleted from your actual photo bucket account. That "dreaded" substitute image from photobucket in place. Either bandwidth or someone has shuffled an image in their account and the link in a post on a forum elsewhere is broken.
