Well i just got my braces on and i live with my Fiance and his Ass**** parents... i mean they are mean!!! First day with braces i was in way to much pain to eat and to even talk. So his parents thought it was just me being a baby and the last two weeks have been hell and still they dont realize how painful and annoying this is. Anyone else get so crabby that they would rather be left alone??

I was crabby when I got my braces on...I did not want to eat and I definitely did not want to brush my teeth because it was very very very painful...so I'd rather not eat.

I remember being so frustrated because it was just so hard to eat! I didn't want mushy soupy crap, I just wanted solid food!

I was lucky. My bfs father lives in the flat downstairs and was really supportive and got me packet rice/pasta and my bf insists I buy soup before adjustments.

It can be hard to understand braces without having them, so just keep explaining it to your fiances parents. They'll eventually get the picture and maybe start giving you soft food. In a couple more days trying to eat solid food will get a lot easier.

I got crabby real soon about day 3 when I found that eating anything hurt like the devil. By day 7 I was ready to kill someone because I was so hungry and wanted real food. These days me getting crabby is far and few in between which is a good thing.

Do pain killers not help with the pain?

I just got my third wire two days ago, its the first titanium wire, and my god it hurts! but this wire is super great, in my opinion it moved my teeth in a matter of hours...my upper arch should be straight in a month or two...

I bet them being Butts is whats making you more crabby. If i was in pain and someone acted like i was faking i'd be pissed. Just ignore them. If it hurts to talk, don't talk. Same with eating. You might just have to keep the pain to yourself or they'll make it worse.
Hope it gets better.

i feel your pain!!

i just had my first adjustment done today and owie owie ow... i find it doesn't hurt when i leave the office, but gets worse throughout the day. i took a couple of tylenol with codeine this morning thinking that would help, but i just feel nausea/headcahe/faint. bleah!

if someone told me i was being a baby about it that person would get a punch in the nose!
