my eyes look better as my teeth are moving

I am female by the way.
one thing i have noticed, as i look at myself BEFORE braces and 4 months into braces , my eyes look alot younger and not as hollowed. I am not imagining it. I can really see a difference. I have pics to prove it. I have a "softer" look and I can see my eyelids whereas before my eyes were looking really hollowed. I am not eating more (eating less).
You see, my bite was real bad and some teeth were longer than others and top front teeth tipping backwards etc.
Anyone else notice improvement like that?

Something similar happened to me. I put it down to the fact that as my face became more symmetrical as the braces evened out my bite, it had an effect on the structure of my face, including around my eyes and my eyelids. Like you, I lost weight rather than gained it, so that wasn't the reason. It was very subtle, but my husband also noticed it.

I am not crazy. My bite was terrible as well as my teeth . When I look at pics of myself I can really see the difference. So glad I am not the only one.

I know what you mean BELIEVER1964. At 28 I look much better than I looked at 18...seriously. The only difference in my case is that I cannot put my finger on what exactly changed.

Hi Believer1964!
You are not crazy at all! I saw a huge difference in my face once my teeth started moving around. My eyes did not look so droopy. It's hard to explain, but I know what you are talking about!
That's awesome! Keep up the great work!

This is all encouraging. I wish somebody would post some before and after pictures b/c this is the first post I have seen about this kind of effect, kind of neat!

No you are right. Thats one thing I noticed as my teeth slowly became worse, one of my eyes seemed to dip slightly lower than the other one. I sort of looked a bit Picasso faced for a while haha... But now everything looks so much better than before I had dental problems. I think the eye problem was worse on the side of my face where mouth was sort of caving in...
i will see what i can do by posting only the eye pics before

If your teeth are being expanded, i could see how that would have an effect on your cheeks and eyes. Usually crooked teeth give an appearance of tired eyes.

I noticed a difference in my face after having braces.
Two years ago just after I'd got braces I happened to look at the photo on my travel pass which was pre-braces and I realised that my right eye drooped slightly and the right side of my mouth was also slightly crooked. I had never been aware of this lopsidedness before. I showed it to my sister-in-law who said I almost looked as though I'd had a stroke! I know now I had a slight cross bite on that side and my teeth didn't ever feel as though they came together properly.
When I first had braces none of my teeth touched, and my cheek bones had become more prominent, I just assumed it was to do with that & didn't think any more of it. Then I had to get a new passport so needed a picture. The change in my face was quite noticeable and the lopsided effect has gone & of course my teeth come together properly.
I don't know whether this was all a coincidence but I suppose the fact that my bite has changed could be the answer - anyway I'm happy with the result!
