I have a hygienist appointment coming up and forgot to tell my orthodontist about it. Do I need to have the wires taken out so she can give my teeth a proper clean?
My ortho and dentist are down the street from each other so I usually get my wires out, get my teeth cleaned then go back for new wires. I feel like I get a better cleaning this way (and my hygienist agrees) but it isn't necessary, they can clean the teeth with the wires in.
They also have a high powered water and baking soda spray that cleans off stains really well.
For my first cleaning i had the ligs and wires taken off. I'm not sure i'll do it for my next cleaning, it was an awful lot of back and forth.
