Broken Fillings with Braces

Last week I broke off a filling without even noticing it was happening. The filling was on the corner of a molar that is next to a gap currently being closed with a power chain. I guess with the forces being applied, it didn't take much for it to be dislodged (or crumble? I am not sure what happened.). Thankfully I had an appointment for a cleaning, so my dentist refilled it and I am back in business.
But this might be one more reason to avoid the forbidden foods. I have to fess up that the last thing I ate before I noticed it was missing was mixed nuts. Oops!
