Hi all,
Is it possible to get 4 extractions in one go? Anyone went for this?
Im scheduled to get my extractions in 2 weeks time, 2 first than the other 2 the following week. But since i can't make it on the second appoinment, im planning to ask my ortho whether he can pull out all my 4 pre-molars in the same visit. I'm willing to sacrifice eating for a couple of days..will just go for porridge and drink milk throughout the few days.

I know someone who just had 3 teeth extracted. Extractions one day, spacers the next and brackets about 5 days later.

Re: 4 Extractions at one go
I had all 4 wisdom's removed at one time. Its not that bad, actually it eliminates having to go back, and having the same pain multiple times.

Re: 4 Extractions at one go
Can't really answer to be honest.
But having my top first pre molars out was enough. I struggled with them for a week afterwards & was in a fair bit of pain (it's eased now) eating was very difficult. More so than when I had my wisdom teeth out. They were right at the back so could try to avoid touching them (plus mine erupted out sidewards of my other teeth) but my premolars were slap bang in the middle of my mouth so hard to avoid catching them whilst eating.
I had my bottom first pre molars out last month & they gave me grief too. The thought of having all 4 out in one go
I don't think I could of put up with it to be honest it was awful. It was much easier to go back twice.
The pain would wake me up in the night etc. etc.
Just food for thought xx

Re: 4 Extractions at one go
In my 20's I had all my wisdoms out in one go. Then for braces had all 4 bicuspids out in one go. No way would I drag out getting teeth removed, so yes, get them all out at once. I wouldn't have done it any other way.

I had all of my 1st premolars out in one sitting. It's not as bad as you think. The hard part comes after when you have to learn how to chew again and not get food stuck in the gaps . I guess the worst part was that they numbed my mouth A LOT. I think I had a total of 12 or 13 injections. But truly they are just a pinch so there is nothing to be afraid of. Has your ortho told you why he wanted to go this route instead of extracting all four at once? You won't be in that much pain, simple extractions I feel have a quicker recovery period than say wisdom teeth surgery where they would have to cut through the bone and tissue. But it has been done, and I know I've seen other members on this bored that have had their 4 premolars out at the same time. Good luck !

I had all 4 of my premolars removed at the same time. My dentist and I had discussed it beforehand, and he said he didn't like to do them all on the same day because of the amount of Novocain he'd have to inject into the top and bottom. You are more prone to bite your tongue because of it. He told me to be careful not to do it, and of course I bit it anyway since I really couldn't feel it. Everything just felt numb and swollen. So be very careful you don't bite your tongue.
