Brace Date of 1/14/10 have ???

Hello all... Trying a fresh thread! So I have my brace date.. I would like suggestions, wondering if I should get white strips before and also would like feedback on colors that people had on brace date or do they even put them on when they first put your braces on?... I'm currently also going thru a lifestyle change (NO Carbing) so I do eat lots of meats and veggies so wondering if that will afftect the color I choose... I've been reading about staining and just looking for updated feed back! I'm sort of excited and have been watching some Youtube videos of braces installation and maint.. All suggestions are appreciated!

I did white strips before i got banded. It made me feel a little better about my teeth. Just make sure you give your teeth a week or two with out the strips before you get the braces put on.
About 2 months ago i did Phase 1 of the South Beach diet, which is zero carbs and i had no issues at all.
I've tried a few colors so far and the past 5 months i've only gotten red. The light blue got kind of dingy, the purple made my teeth look yellow and the dark green just looked dark and kinda boring. When i try a color for the first time i have them put it on the bottom first, and if i like it i put it on the top.

Thanks a bunch, I'm doing great on Atkins and feel like I haven't in years! I'm only getting tops the 14th so I will go for pink I think

24 hours and it's BRACE TIME! My appt is @ 9:30 please everyone post what I should expect! Thanks and wish me luck! Also what colors did everyone get on Brace Day?

Expect some discomfort in your mouth and teeth for about 1 week. After that you should be ok.

I actually had chicken fried rice right after i got braced

The worst part is the horrible and bitter etchant. Its just ick, then you rinse your mouth and its even more ick. The first sandwich after you get them on is so weird. Its hard to explain, it doesn't hurt but you're thinking "why is this bread so hard?" lol, and its not.
Have fun with your colors. I got metallic red for my first colors. Good luck!
EDIT: I had my adjustment yesterday and for the first time got light pink on my bottoms. I didn't think i'd like it, but its really pretty. I decided next adjustment i'll get the pink on top and the red on bottom.

My fav color is blue so I went with alternating navy and aqua ligs. The day my braces were put on I felt nothing but relief to get the spacers out of my teeth! No pain really, but I could definitely feel pressure on all my top teeth and chewing was a whole new experience! Brushing and flossing for the first time after braces will be... a memorable experience as well

Aww thanks for those of you who have replied I have tomorrow (brace day) and the day after off I think I've decided to get hot pink ligs or maybe pink and aqua! I want this to be a BANG OUT thing for me getting braced! I have my mp3 player full of new hits!
Soo I'm ready more encouragement is def welcomed and appreciated

It'll go great! congrats on starting your braces journey!

I didn't do anything exciting color wise. Just went with silver, but I just wanted to get ones that didn't stain easily and I heard these do well. So far so good!

my brace date is 1/14/11 as well! 8 am!! i thought i would be going into work after that so i made it an early appointment, however i'm miserably ill w/ a nasty cold, so i'll be going right home to rest and show off my brraces to my girls!! i would luv to eat hot soup after my braces for my throat as i'm sick....but i think they say to eat something very cold right away? does that help w/ pain? i would think so.

i'm getting top and bottom braces, no spacers. i think i'm going w/ a sapphire blue if they have that....i think that would be pretty or some other moderate blue like a metallic blue

What a breeze that was this morning I was in and out in an hour tops! I have enjoyed my first day and will post pics soon.. I only got 6 brackets on the top and 4 spacers on the top Feb 7th is my next appt to have the rest put on and spacers in the bottom, I did go with pink ligs... Thanks everyone for the info
