Please recommend which colour ligatures ?

Hi ive had my braces on 6 weeks and on Monday i am going for my first check up, where they will change my elastic ligatures.

i currently have purple, but was this time thinking i wanted a change.

Has anyone got an experience with the clear ligatures? i quite fancy them but if they are going to go a funny colour after 2 days i wont bother!

what colours do other people recommend?

Yes clear ligs will stain, and pretty quickly if you eat or drink anything with color. Since you have purple currently, you are clearly not afraid of colors, but if you want something less noticeable then I would consider either smoke or light gray. I used both (had clear uppers). The smoke tends to stain a bit more then the light gray and gets a yellowy color. The light gray turns a kind of beige color which actually isn't all that unsightly. Check out the "lig colours" thread for inspiration.

If your ortho has a lig color called "Obscure", you may want to try that one. I'm using those now (see page 15 of my story); they're more tooth-colored and seem to resist staining much better than the clear ones.

I've had red, green, blue, and orange. I think orange is the least noticeable.

i'm very fond of the sapphire blue ligs i have, my eyes are bluish green and it complements them....i think.

thanks All, i didnt realise there was a whole 72 pages on the subject!

Looking through some picstures i love the hot pink / orange combo and also teal and pink... still not sure what to go for, probably depends on what my ortho has to offer!

2 hours to go till i get my first adjustment! eek! hope its not too painful after, my gums are already cut to shreads !
