Saying hello - 31 in braces!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I've been reading for awhile, but just had an account created to say "hi" and thanks for all the info.
I just got my braces in October, so I've had them for about 3 months now. Ceramic on my upper "social 4" (one canine is impacted and one missing), and metal (Damon) on the rest. Unfortunately, I think I'm in that phase where things are getting uglier before they get better - hahaha. :P
I've been pretty easy-going about the whole thing. I've wanted braces all my life, so I think I'm handling the pain and awkwardness pretty well. I actually have one impacted canine, and one is missing, so I have surgery next month to expose the impacted canine and remove the tooth behind it. I have to admit I'm freaking out about that a bit. Not the pain - just the aesthetics. I already have a fairly big gap where my canine SHOULD be, but not big enough for it to come in, so they're going to now pull the tooth behind it, which in my opinion, will create a space large enough to park a truck in. Ugh.
I did have one Newbie question. I'll be getting an implant for the canine that is missing at the end of my orthodontic treatment. I'm sure a few people here have gotten them - does anyone have pictures? Do they look natural?
