Hmm... Good question! I have the same but I'm wearing a removable brace on the top to help align my bite properly. Because I'm wearing a removable brace, it has a hard plastic bit that sits on my upper palate and is meant to change the angle of my front teeth. Or at least that's how I understood it.
Is your ortho doing this with just fixed braces?
