So to summarize, I've been in braces for 4 yrs and my ortho decided to finish my treatment with invisalign. I got my braces off yesterday, got a retainer, and got molds done for the invisalign. I'm feeling pretty down about my teeth. I have to get them cleaned and have a date for june 9, which gives my swollen gums some time to heal. I know I'm not done with treatment but my teeth look bad for being in treatment this long. My teeth are small so when the braces came off, I could actually see the tooth. I noticed that my front teeth are missing quite a bit of enamel. Probably from brushing. Also, my top teeth are so messed up now, which, as I've put in a ton of previous posts, didn't look slanted at all prior to treatment. When I went into the office yesterday, the staff kept acting like it was a major deal that I was getting debraced but I just felt embarrased by my teeth. I'm actually more embarrassed now than before braces. I really want this to be done. Here's some pix. U can't really see the enamel problem as much in the pix but I think its more apparent in person.
Although it looks like the bottoms are off, its actually the top arch that's slanted.
I have my retainer on in this one.

I'm not sure that I follow. I think they look good.
What do you mean "you could actually see the tooth"? How are they slanted? I know it's difficult to see everything in photos.
The only tooth that I notice is the canine tooth on the right (your left) that seems to come out a little further but I'm uncertain if it's because of it's shape. It looks like it should come in a bit more. If you're unhappy with that particular tooth, is there contouring or some other type of cosmetic fix if braces won't help?
What type of corrections will the Invisalign do?
I would be sure to speak with your orthodontist about your concerns. The sooner the better. I notice that my orthodontist will change the treatment plan we agreed upon. It's very frustrating! Good luck!

Re: debraced but not done...opinions
Thanks for the reply luckylola. When I said I could see my teeth after the braces came off, I meant that the ceramic brackett took up most of the surface of my tooth so I actually couldn't tell how much enamel was affected until I could see my naked teeth. The invisalign is suppose to finish leveling my front teeth out. The front four teeth tilt a bit to one side. Its also suppose to finish closing the gaps. The ortho said she'll be closing them by moving my front teeth back. I've had the braces off for a week and a half now so I'm over my initial shock. I can't wait to get the invisalign trays so I can finish up treatment.
