bracket fell off, cant't get it fixed for at least 2 weeks

bracket fell off, cant't get it fixed for at least 2 weeks

Hi everyone,

My bracket on my last molar fell off. This is the last bracket in the chain since I don't have brackets on my wisdom teeth. I can't get it fixed for at least 2 weeks since my orthondist office is on vacation. Do you think it will significantly slow down the process? I don't want the effects of the braces to reverse dduring the next 2 weeks.

2 weeks in the grand scheme of things is nothing. I went a week with a lateral unbracketed. I was no worse for the wear. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok, but in the mean will my upper teeth go back to their original position? It seems like there is no strength in the wire now.

I had a bracket on my last molar pop off a few hours after a regular appointment. I called right away, and they said since it was on the last molar, I shouldn't worry about it and they would fix it at the next appt (4 weeks away). If it was a different tooth, they would have had me come in right away.
