Going in for first adjustment today!

#1 Post by bracketeer »

Can't believe I've been braced for six weeks. Some days I hate them with all my might, and other days I forget that I even have them!

I hope I get a new wire today. I've seen a little movement since they first went on, but I'm really anxious for some significant changes. Ahhh...I am so impatient!

I'll post my results tomorrow!

I know exactly what you mean about the hate/blasé thing.

Definitely let us know how things went. I am going in for my first adjustment on Friday, so I am quite interested to hear! Right now I am just hoping that they change my ligs so I can try a different color.

I had my first adjustment yesterday. They put a thicker wire on which I think is loads more noticable but probably isn't. The pain is back, which I think is good, it means they're moving!!!

I'm also understand the hate/blasé thing too. I'm also eager for my first adjustment, as I haven't seen all that much movement with the first arch wire. I'm going to see if there are any cancellations, so I can get my next appointment moved up closer to the 4 week mark, rather than the 6 (originally, they said they could only fit me in after 7 weeks  )

Keep us posted on how it's going! :)

First adjustment yesterday went well and was very quick! Took all of about 15 minutes.

I had both archwires replaced with thicker ones. I could feel the difference immediately even though they look pretty much the same. It's kind of neat to hear the click of the Damon bracket doors opening and closing..and then they just lift the wires up and out!

My Ortho said that at my next appointment (Nov 2) he will be installing an inflexible stainless steel wire. Whoa! He said the wires I've had thus far have been flexible and progressively stronger, but the stainless steel one is going to be "heavy duty"! I'm sure there's going to be significant pain/pressure with that one, but I'm actually looking forward to it because that will (hopefully) mean major movement! Yay!

The journey continues! Still loving my Damon brackets. They kind of look and feel like little jewels on my teeth

Glad your first adjustment went well. I had my first adjustment last month and it was a quick tweak and I was done. The longest wait was checking in and waiting to be called back. Lol. My 2nd adjustment is next week and I'm super am excited about it and the week after that another adjustment. They already told me the 3rd adjustment will take longer b/c spacers, brackets to my back molars and schedule my exposure. Super excited, impatient, and at the same time a tad bit nervous. Any who, best of luck on your next adjustment and your journey to perfect smile. :D
