eating in a restaurant

Hello everybody,

just had my "6 months smile" braces fitted yesterday and I'll have to go to out to a restaurant in about 2 weeks for a business dinner.
Any advices? For the moment I can only eat liquids, but with solid food I'd be afraid not to have food stuck between my braces...

try taking painkillers before the dinner. if you are worried about the pain.

but for the food getting stuck between yar braces, hmmm, it happens, just bring with you your cleaning kit(proxy brush, etc) just in case. Im sure your colleagues would understand with what you are going through. and also try not to order meals with veggies, veggies get in between alot and they are green, very noticeable.

You won't likely have any discomfort in 2 weeks from the movement of the teeth. As for eating, avoid foods like lettuce that can get caught in the braces, and do a subtle swish around of water in your mouth to keep it clean if you can't make a trip to the restroom to brush.

thank you for your kind reply.
Actually today I had my first eating "in public" during lunch - I only ate soup and some fish, but it all went well - I'm still not able to masticate very well, I only do it with my last wisdom tooth and with the tongue, but it's fine.
It's great to have braces in fact, it 2 in 1 (straighter teeths and loosing kilos) :)

the swish works great. after eating, drink liquids and when noone looks, swish it for 10 secs. you can do this twice and for sure it will get rid of trapped food

Good Luck!

Cut your food into small pieces.

I would take ibuprofen if my mouth is still sore, and I would cut my food into smaller pieces.
