Crowded mouth/filing of teeth

Crowded mouth/filing of teeth
I'm considering having either a Inman Alligner or the Invisalign brace (if suitable for me). I've read elsewhere that if my mouth is too crowded, which I think it is, that I may have to have my teeth filed down to make room - does anyone have any experience of this? If so does it hurt? Are there any risks of damage to the teeth?

Hi Nat22,
As I understand it, it will be quite unusual not to have filing ( often described as inter-proximal reduction or IPR) if you have invisalign or inman aligner treatment. But you tend not to find any mention of IPR on literature/websites promoting orthodontic treatment.
I have a fixed brace with Damon brackets and had some IPR of my top front teeth last week. It did not hurt at all and does no damage to your teeth.
