I got my braces in this morning and thought it would take about two hours and it only took a little less than an hour. There was not pain and I am doing fine right now. No pain right now and hope it stays that way lol. I am at work right now and I am starving. I can't wait for 6 O'Clock to get here so I can go home and eat. I tried eating some soup and it was nasty. It is weird to eat but I am sure this is something I have to get used to.

YAY! When I first got my braces, I felt like my teeth were locked behind cages! But now I hardly notice them. Good luck with your treatment! = )

Congrats, I am a 34 year old woman, and I have had mine for 6 days now, enjoy the ride :#).

I got mine on today too (uppers only for now) and also found eating to be difficult. I managed some cottage cheese for lunch and scrambled eggs for dinner, but that's about all I could do today. It didn't hurt to eat, it just felt very weird and I had to chew soooo slow.

You will get use to them. At the moment I am wearing lowers only but I was use to them within a week

Congrats! How is everything going for you now? I get my braces in just over a week and getting rather nervous now.

congrats!! And yes, eating for the first time is very strange - in fact you whole mouth should feel a bit strange for a short while.
But just take it day by day, and if any of the brackets annoy you, dont hesitate to use that wax! I put off using the wax and had so many canker sores for the first few two weeks.... horrible

But it all get much better before you know it you will forget they in your mouth!!

I ate some eggs and bacon for dinner last night and I had a hard time with the bacon. My front bottom teeth are the most sensitive right now. I am taking 800 mg ibreprofin (not sure if I spelled that right) I gargled with salt water last night so that my mouth can get tough so I won't get the sores, so I hope it helps.
