Finally got braced

#1 Post by smelbourne »

Got braced yesterday (at 32 years old) - full metal with a fake upper incisor attached to a bracket. I'm going to get an implant placed when the braces come off. The fake incisor is really annoying me...it's moving a lot on the wire (rotating). It's impossible to eat at the moment due to the pain and the fake tooth moving. Just came back from the supermarket with a supply of soups, tofu and ibuprofen. I've been hungry all day. Found myself wondering if all this is worth it when I was painfully chewing my food. Hopefully things will get better soon.

You'll feel better in a couple of days. Just keep it up with the advil, and wait for the inflammation to go down.

I must say, your lig color choice would be quite confusing here in the greater Raleigh, NC, metro area... somebody with Wolfpack (NC State) and Tarheel (UNC) ligs in the same mouth! Unless, of course, you were trying to use ligs running away from each other as a substitute for elastics. :D

Congrats on getting braced! :D Love your colour choices.
The pain will subside soon enough. Once you start seeing movement it makes the pain and soup diet worth it
