Haven't been on the boards for a while...have missed it! Hope everyone is doing well and smiling big.
My treatment is coming along nicely and my ortho said my braces should be ready to come off in about 4 months. YES!! That would put my overall treatment at 11 months. What an adventure it has been.
I had a cleaning at 6 months, am currently wearing a powerchain just on my top teeth and for the past month I have been wearing one rubber band that connects from my top two front teeth to two bottom teeth. Looks kind of like a hexagon when it's in place. Not too thrilled about it being right in the front though... Ortho says it's necessary for proper alignment. It's fun when I go to laugh or yawn and forget they're in my mouth!
The other day I was looking at my teeth in the mirror (shocker) and I realized that when I smile naturally, I show a LOT of teeth! I counted 22 total.
So I'm curious...how many of your teeth show when YOU smile?
Embraced in a heavy metal romance with Damon since 8/10/11. This affair is destined to last at least 12 months : )
You must have real nice wide smile . Mine only shows 14-16. But then again i know i got somewhat smaller mouth. Even heard that from dentists before too.

A lot of people just have the 'social 6'
You must have a really wide and deep smile to see 22 teeth smiling naturally?
Also, is this 11 on top and 11 on bottom, are your teeth uneven?
I think people who show their bottom teeth when smiling look like they are doing a fake smile.
Kenny, yes I counted. No my teeth aren't uneven...I counted and that's how many show. My smile isn't fake, promise In fact, it's getting even wider, the closer I get to having my braces taken off

But shouldn't it be an even number if they are centred, like 20 or 24
If you have 11 showing on top then one side is a tooth short 6 one half and 5 the other?
