Hi. I'm interested in expanding the arch of both my upper and lower teeth. I'm sure there are many different types of treatment that is available out there, but in my region which is Norway, Rogaland, such treatment is sparse.
Therefor I am considering going to greater lengths to achieve this. but I need to know what is available out there. Maybe you can help me.
I tried to look at pictures of skull-bones, but I don't think I have the knowledge to express myself with medical language on what my goal is, therefor I will do my best to explain it simple and understandable:
My main goal with the orthodontic appliance is to expand the dental arch so that I might see development in facial structure. I want it to put pressure on both my teeth and and the bone that my teeth is attached to from the inside pushing out. Either with removable appliance that I can wear when sleeping and in private, fastened appliance or some combination of both if possible. Maybe some orthopedic can device something new for me.
I want to do this because, I have had braces earlier, and also had teeth pulled. so that there was narrowing of the facial features, which I want to widthen, hopefully with orthodontic treatment. Also I hope that it might help me get a more symmetrical face, I know a symmetrical face is not normal, but mine is more unsymmetrical than usual.
If there is any other treatment, that doesn't include plastic surgery for aligning bones or, building features, tell me about it. I will be grateful.
Thank you,
Tor
Suggestions for treatment

Re: Suggestions for treatment
One of the main goals of my treatment is to expand my narrow upper arch to give my tongue the proper amount of space and to correct an underbite. It'll also upright my teeth, which are canted inwards. My ortho is using a fixed acrylic expander in my upper jaw to start, with an upper brace to close the gaps created by the expander. The lower jaw will follow in approximately 2 months with a fixed expander and brace of its own once the upper jaw has progressed further (as the lower jaw requires less work than my upper). Elastics will also be used when the lower brace is installed to start closing my open bite. Prognosis for myself is good, however, the treatment time is quite lengthy.

You need to have your ortho evaluate your bite and jaw structure to see if a similar treatment plan is appropriate for you. My ortho practices neuromuscular dentistry, which analyzes jaw position and through treatment, places the jaw and bite in the proper natural position, which avoids excessive wear of the TMJ joint and the teeth.
Good luck...
