Progress so far...

#1 Post by houseofcash »

Well its hard to believe its almost one year of wearing braces,

its been awhile since my last post, for those who dont remember me. Im 29, (turning 30 this year :( ) my case requires braces as well as lower jaw surgery (hopefully end of this year) i must say it took a lot for me to me this BIG decision, due to the surgery portion.

This was something i always wanted as a teenage, but unfortunatly my parents did not have the money. finally as i got older and really hated the way my teeth looked/functioned i decided to go through with it. and boy am i glad i did! my confidence has gone up 100% since i started wearing my braces.

Prior to braces i use to stutter, but im now happy to say i dont anymore. and to think im still only half way there. as much as im affraid of the surgery...I just want to get it done and over with. ive posted pictures from my start date, to my current date in hopes to encourage someone else who may have been in my shoes several years ago.

This was my first week.

That's great.

What do you have to have done to your lower jaw?

I require lower jaw surgery to advance my lower jaw to meet with my top teeth. My current state is my lower teeth fall right behind my top teeth. This is why my top teeth where pushed out so far, also before braces my lower teeth where hitting the roof of my mouth. At times cutting it.

My teeth may look better, but believe me they are even worse to chew with now in preparation for surgery. My teeth barely make contact. I have never have had the pleasure to bite anything head on due to this! Sooo after my surgery once healed. I plan to take a huge bite out of an apple :-) I can't wait!!

Thanks for all the kind words!
