TADs to intrude teeth?

TADs to intrude teeth?

My ortho is going to place TADs to intrude my top and bottom teeth. How long should this take and has anyone heard of this working?

I've had a single TAD to correct the cant in my upper arch. It seems to have worked pretty well and you can see gradual movement over a matter of months. You can look at the link in my sig to see pictures of before/after, though I didn't take any pictures when the TAD was first placed so it doesn't show a timetable progression.

I have TADs to intrude my upper molars. Worked like a charm.

I just had the TAD yesterday. One on the bottom with a sturdy wire tied to the back molar. I think it is supposed to hold the lowers steady while the elastics are shifting the top teeth to the left.

Original estimate 18 to 24 months.
Ceramic uppers Replaced Sept. 19, 2012 with metal
Metal lowers
TAD #1: July 5, 2012
