I had a deep bite when I had my braces put on, no protrusions or anything like that. Now I have had the top braces on for 3 months and I now have an open bite and my left front/top is moving diagonally up when i look at it in the mirror. I go for my bottom braces tomorrow - wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen and what causes this? My Ortho's assistant said I am probably clenching my teeth and pushing them up - but why only 1 side?

I had something similar happen. When I got braces added to my bottom teeth only back in August I didn't have an open bite. My bottom teeth touched the top ones, despite being crooked. Six months later when I had braces added to my tops, My bottom teeth are pretty much straight but I now have an open bite and am in elastics to work on correcting it. I've been wondering if having braces on just one row and not the other makes it easier for open bites to form?
