Getting my wires tomorrow

So after having my brackets and spacers on for a week, its finally time to get all wired up. Im really excited because then the movement can start to happen and Im so anxiously excited to start to see the changes. But at the same time, Im nervous about getting them as Im not sure if they are putting springs in a couple of places. Also, I have the worlds worst cold (ok maybe a slight exageration) Im really ill and snotty and Im not looking forwrd to being laid in the chair feeling like crap. Fingers crossed Im feeling better tomorrow!!

I dont feel like I have braces at the moment, like I know Iv got all this junk in my mouth, but without wires it doesnt feel real yet. I dont feel official if that makes sense. Roll on tomorrow when I will finally class myself as being a proper brace face and feel that my journey is going somewhere!

its funny, i was so nervous about my first installation appointment, and now im impatient to get even more junk in my mouth! I just want to start seeing some movement, or at least feeling like positives are happening even if im unable to see them.

Hows the spacers been treating you? Mine have been a pain in my behind all week. I managed to eat potato chips today though wooooo!! kind of feels like a last supper as Im sure Ill be back to limited diet again tomorrow

hey nikki, yep Im official and not liking it so much. I hurt a lot right now. But hopefully that will star to ease up soon. Iv just update my story post, so if you want to rea all about my yukky wires, follow my signiture link :0) Ill try and keep that thread updated as much as I can.

Sorry to hear about ur pain.

I'm in the same boat.
My teeth especially my front top teeth are so sore I can't even let my tongue pass on it without wincing from the pain.


Not looking forward to next week when I get my last pair of bands placed.

I'll have to start the process all over again. figuring how to chew appropriately sighs. Oh the joys of braces.

how are your teeth doing now nikkibabie? are they settling down at all?
mine are starting to feel better, i dont have constant unbearable pain ow, just a lot of aching and pulling, and i stil havent figuered out how to chew, so its still yogurts and soup for me.
I ha a quick read of your story and realised yours is one that i read when i first read through the stories threads! will comment on them later after iv had my lovely meal of soup and ice cream haha!

Well yesterday I was finally able to ghave a propper meal without pain.


I am chewing almost like normal now.

Jus had lunch. It was good. Cook food yay! Actual food.

Yeah, i know how you felt. The faster the wires go on the faster you can look forward to the day when they are removed and your teeth emerge from its cocoon like a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly.

nikki so glad you are able to eat now! im aiming to eat a proper meal today, i cant wait! although i tried potato chips last night and completly failed haha!

rmb1013: yea i felt like without my wires i was just wasting time. now they are in though, i can feel the pressure and its reminding me that they are doing there job. and the cattepillar analogy is so lovely!
