So i had my first adjustment yesterday.

I got new wires on both arches. The 16/ 24 i think i heard the ortho say....From the moment he put the wire in i felt the pressure..I got a headache one time...That was before the ligs went on....I also have to wire ties on my both #upper arch canines i couldn't see afterwards because he put ligs over them...but it felt like my canines (couldnt have been my #2 incisors)

I finally got my pink ligs...love them

I got a power chain on my front upper 4 teeth. and 2 links below connected to my 2nd premolar on the left and the molar band. and one from my 1st premolar to the canine.

So here are some update pics.....i see so much progress...Im jus so excited that the pain and inability to eat doesnt bother me as much anymore

You have had so much progress!! I got my wire and bands today on my upper arch and boy oh boy am I in pain!! I also see you have those pink ligs that you have been wanting for a long time. Again your teeth are doing so well and I hope mine do the same!

Thanks kimmie! And yes I finally got them.yay I never got a chance to go buy them from another ortho. But apparently my ortho was getting a lot of request for new colours so he got somE. He has a wider selection that b4 but still not all the colours I want. So I might still end up buying from the other guy.

And no need to tell me about the pain. Right now i'm having dinner of soggy cereal......I hate soggy cereal but I have no choice. Its easy on my jaw/teeth and I'm so hungry I'm not even gonna fuss.

I did not know flossing would be so painful once the wire went on!! I am kind of happy that not wires did not go on today because I could not imagine what the pain would feel like bc this one is giving me soo much pain!! I am glad your ortho got some fairly new colors in!

I hear that. Flossing is by far my least favorite thing to do with braces. Its so tedious and frustrating to keep treading the floss through. Then ur teeth are so sore that getting the floss in between them is jus painful!

Don't worry it'll get better soon. About a week and sum. Hang in there.

I wouldn't know thop, bcuzz I got spacers and brackets, bands and arch wire the same day! So I really didn't kno wat was causing the pain. I jus knew I was in a lot of it! I always assumed the bulk of the pain was from the spacers since I had 8 of them at once! But now I really don't kno.

But so far I have pain but eating isn't as unbearable as it was the 1st time. So who knows maybe the pain would go away faster this time. Then i'll kno for sure the spacers contributed to my 2weeks painful eating.

For Flossing do you just use one of the proxy brushes around your molars that are banded since you really can't get floss back there due to the bands?

OMG im sorry braceface im now seeing ur reply...It does make it SO WORTH IT!!!

And @Kimmie: I dont know whats a proxy brush...i have a toothbrush with a christmas tree lookin mini brush on the end of it...i use that and i also use the floss threaders to get the floss in between the molars with the bands on...It takes a while but i get it through eventually....

Wow, your diastema is really closing up quickly. I have a gap too - I hope it closes up in the first couple months too. Very inspiring!
