I had an adjustment last week and just noticed that two upper teeth on both side did was not tied with either rubber band or wire ties....is that normal?

For the first month of my treatment the lower two back teeth were not tied in with wire or bands, although they did have brackets fixed on them. The wire was added to them at the next adjustment.

It is very common to not tie the very back 2nd and 3rd molars (wisdom teeth). Orthos tie those teeth only in certain cases. My 2nd molars are tied because they are used to correct a crossbite; however, my wisdom teeth are not tied. Don't worry, it is totally normal.

I have 23 teeth tied. None of my back teeth (2nd molars) are tied and I have a crooked tooth that isn't inline enough yet that will be tied later after the spring has made some room for it

Thanks for the response...and I apologize for not making myself clear....its not the two back teeth.... But the 3rd and 4th teeth next to the one with molar bands. I'm a year into my treatment n it just seems odd that those two teeth in the back on both side is not tied.... Wouldnt it bend the wire if I eat something hard?..... I'll call later today to double check... Thanks guys
