Moved in the middle of treatment--need help!!

#1 Post by Corenna »

Hey guys---first of all, thanks for the great forums. Anytime I need anything answered there's always something here to help. Thank you!!

So here is my issue: I just moved 2,000 cross country from West Virginia to Tucson, AZ for graduate school. As of right now, I've had upper and lower ALF appliances (the lower is now gone) for nine months and braces for six months. I'm definitely not done, as my gaps from extractions haven't closed yet and my bite is still way off (killing me, since I have to wear a mouth guard at night because I'm clacking) so I need to transfer my care. But it's been a nightmare!!! I have delta force brackets, which I really like and have moved things along fantastically, but my first orthodontist can't find anyone in Tucson able to work on them. One dentist I got a consult with wanted to take all the brackets off and put his own on--and charge me $3700!! I'm not starting all over.

So I guess my question is, does anyone know how to search for dentists who use a specific system? Right now my dentist has been working with the lab they buy the brackets from to see if there is anyone near me. But is there anything I can search in the meantime? Google hasn't helped.

Thanks again!!

Some systems(Damon, Invisalign, In-Ovation) allow you to search for providers using their website. Might be worth a try to see if delta force's website has that feature

If they don't have a search function you could try just contacting the manufacturer directly, they obviously know who they are selling their product to.
