Shaping Teeth-On deband?

Just wondered if when your braces get taken off if it certain teeth need reshaping/contouring if this is done? Or whether you would need to pay extra back at your routine dentist?

Just wondered as it finishes the debanded smile as it were? For example if one front tooth looked longer than the other.

I'm pretty sure it's routine for most, if not all, orthodontists to shape the teeth after debonding. Mine has already done a little bit, prior to my debonding next week. He said he "didn't want to go crazy with it" until after my braces are off. Thank goodness, because I have one front tooth that is a bit longer than the other one!

I am worried that I have one front tooth longer than the other, I think because of the way my front teeth were flared in addition to my diastema and due to my bruxism one side appears to be slightly shorter.

I hope he does deal with some shaping at no extra charge, as I know that he will be allowing an hour for debanding when the time comes (I am having single arch treatment too).

Mine does it at the second retainer check. I've seen some do it during the bonding appt (at least smoothing the ridges.)

I asked my ortho when I got debraced 7/23 and he said he likes to wait until the teeth settle for at least 6-8 weeks. I am looking forward to it myself as i have a few teeth that are longer and need to be same length as teeth next to them.
