Finally, after what has felt like an eternity, I have been braced this morning! I'm really excited to start my journey to a nice smile.

Also, a big thank you to you guys on here - I read through your forum when I was having wobbly moments about having it done and you showed me that my 'wobbles' were normal and that I should definitely get this underway!! :-)

Hi Nicurn85,

I'm really excited to start seeing changes. I can feel pressure already and it is getting painful to bite down - I guess that's only a good thing as it means the brace is doing its thing!? :-)

Congratulations on becoming braced! :jump: r

Make sure you have the painkillers, dental wax and something like iglu on hand as they will become your new best friends over the next few days! But it will be worth it :D

Yes, with braces pain and pressure are usually a GOOD sign! Hopefully you will not be in too much pain. Soft foods and smoothies will be your best friend for at least a week. It may be less. Usually the second day is the worst so make sure you have some ibuprofen or any type of pain med you may take for a headache on board. I will be where you are tomorrow with feeling pain and pressure as I go for an adjustment tomorrow.

Ooooh, I hope your adjustment isn't too painful. How are you feeling now?

Thank you Metal Mickey, I've just put a few blobs of wax on and I see what you mean - I'm going to love this stuff!

Bit sore today, and cant really bite down - but just so happy to have the braces on. It's made me realise quite how concious of my teeth I have been, and now I'm finally doing something about it I'm much happier with them already! :-)

Congrats on beginning your journey! It's not all going to be smooth sailing but in the end it will be worth it. :-)

Congrats on getting braced!! I've been braced for about a month and a half, and I already see a big difference in my smile. Good luck on your new journey!!

Hey Khaymie,

I am feeling ok now after the adjustment. I feel a little ache in my bottom arch, but nothing yet on top and that's where she said I will be a little sore at since they put a stiffer wire on. I have a feeling this wire may close my little gap that formed! I will probably be in a little pain tomorrow on the top. I am excited about my new colors. I feel like a big kid when I chose a color. I made an update on my page with pics of my new colors and how my appointment went.

Ahhhhh, today is a painful day. I've seen a tiny bit of movement already and I've had pain biting down in my teeth at the side, but today my front teeth are REALLY sore! I guess its to be expected, but the soft food diet is now getting boring and I would like it all to stop hurting!

Congratulations on being braced and starting the road to straight teeth!

I'm currently considering braces (I'm 24 and unfortunately was missed off the NHS list when I was younger). I've been perusing this website and seeing what others have had to say about being braced, going through the process etc.

At first I did consider Invaslign, but now currently considering either Damon or metal braces - I suppose it depends what the Ortho says when I arrange a consultation. I'm looking on Google to see my local Orthodontic Centres and how much they charge for a first consultaiton.

It's quite an exciting time :)
