I had my braces on last week (the top set), actually a week ago today. :-)

My teeth are not sore any more but I have noticed that four of my teeth are getting rather wobbly! I guess this is good as they are starting to move, but just wondered if they will be wobbly after treatment too?

My canine is way out of line so at the moment the orthodontist is trying to pull that down and more into line so that he can then pull it round into place (to the place where my bicuspid used to be before the extraction).

Just wondered if anyone else has been through that and how long the wobble lasts??

I'll be very interested to read what the other forum members have to say on this subject. Hang in there! I'm sure it won't last long.

In my case one of the top lateral incisors was wobbly for about a week. Felt very strange, but the good thing was that it started to move (in the right direction) soon afterwards.

Yeah mine feel wobbly/loose (they can click) sometimes when I push my tongue up against my teeth. I think it just means they're moving. They would be a bit loose with the braces forcing them into different positions, this should be gone once they're off!

So does that mean that even though your teeth get loose during treatment, they will get back to normal once you're finished? When I went to see the periodontist two weeks ago he said that my two front incisors were "loose" but did not give any reason. He did, however, say that I could go ahead and have my braces put on so that was reassuring.

Mine click too, when I eat and also sometimes when I talk. Very glad this is normal and means that they might be starting to move!

Its quite exciting when little things change, hopefully I'll notice some movement soon!

I have a bad habit of pushing my tongue on the back of teeth that click... I know I shouldn't do it and try to stop myself when I catch myself doing it.

One of my incisors become wobbly. I can't see it but definitely feel it. Ortho says before it's normal but as much? I'm scared it will pop out! I'm anxious again.

Yep. I have this too. It was really bad last week (my 2nd week in braces). Now, moving into week 3 they seem to have settled a bit.

However, the teeth that were clicking and wobbly are now REALLY hurting. I'm sure this isn't what happens to everyone. I guess it's just movement and I have a big ol' leap forward of 5 or 6mm needed for one tooth so I'm glad it's all concentrated in this problematic area! Wooooo!

I have my first adjustment at the start of week 5 in braces. I really hope this will kick it all off!

I've had the wobbling and the clicking too. It's so hard to stop yourself from pressing the teeth that clock with your tongue! My teeth were definitely more wobbly in the first few weeks of braces. Now I'm on month three it seems to have settled down.

I just had a power chain put on my upper teeth on Monday. Now, the tooth behind my upper left canine feels very loose and wobbly when I push my tongue against it. If I actually put my fingers there and try to move the tooth, nothing happens. Does this mean I shouldn't worry about it? I'm not due to go back to see my orthodontist until April 6th.

All of my teeth have had their wobbly moments. But then the next day they'd be absolutely fine.

I have on tooth that is quite wobbly but I think this is because of the position of it against the bottom tooth which keeps moving it. I had a new wire on today and the tooth didn't fall out which I guess is a good thing!!

Hopefully it will move in a few weeks so it stops being disturbed!

I heard this can happen, and they will feel "loose". I've only had mine since Tuesday, but mine feel like they are "creaking", if that makes sense. It's still early, so I think I will go through the loose phase soon enough.

I've had my top braces on for 2 months now and I definitely get the feeling that my teeth aren't as solidly anchored as they used to be which is great since it means they're on the move (I assume!). In my case, I think the word crunchy, which a lot of people use here, is a more apt description of how my teeth feel. It's nothing I've been overly concerned about :-).

I had the initial horrible clicking for at least a week or so once I first got braced.

The wobbly feeling was there for a while, as teeth need to loosen to be able to move.
