Do you have a simple food that you have a craving for but you cannot have since your braces? For me, it is a bagel, a toasted onion bagel with lots of cream cheese and a cup of coffee in the morning. I tried to have it once or twice by cutting a toasted bagel and dipping it in cream cheese. It was not quite the same feeling, so I gave it up. I so want to sink my teeth in a bagel and take a nice bite... And there is someone in my office area who toasts an onion bagel in our kitchen and tortures me almost every morning. I intentionally try not to find her/him because I may get nasty to her/him.

Steak...in adult sized bites!

Guess I'm bad, but the only food I don't tussle with is corn on the cob! It's just not the same to cut if off like cutting an apple up to eat in pieces. Everything else I enjoyed before braces I continue to eat without problems except for ensuring I have a toothpick accessible.

POPCORN!!! I think popcorn is the only food I can't find a way around to be able to eat it. I almost caved in, but the thought of a hull getting into my gums under my braces and causing an infection, or having a seed pop a bracket is enough to deter me. However, there is hope!! I saw an ad on TV last night advertising new K*llog"s Popcorn Chips. I am going to get some today!!

Crusty bread and toasted bagels - my mouth is watering all over the keyboard! When I get braces off, I plan to take a Granny Smith apple and a loaf of crusty bread with me and eat right there in the office!

All without having to launch a major clean up operation afterwards...bliss!
