Finally

#1 Post by Finallybraced27 »

After years of wanting/desperately needing braces today was the day. At 9.20am my braces journey finally got underway. I have ceramics on top and in a few months I will also get ceramics on the bottom arch as well. Feeling very excited/very nervous. Have really enjoyed reading about everyone else's brace experiences.

I had my braces on today too! How are you finding it so far? Ive got Damon clear just on the top for now - it feels like my lip is sticking out a mile! Front teeth feel very sensitive but no pain yet (only had them a few hours though!). Hope it's going well!

Today my teeth are feeling pretty sensitive and only sore when my top teeth touch the bottom. I have the radiance brave on and it also feels like my lip is sticking out. I'm off work just now and have been practicing talking. I haven't told anyone I work with that I'm getting a brace so feeling nervous about how people will react to them.

I've definitely noticed people looking at them at work today but I just talked about it and they were all really nice - everyone seems to have experience of braces whether it's themselves or their family so had a lot of advice. Even had a patient comment on them which was a bit embarrassing (im a junior dr - was in clinic today). I keep accidentally biting top&bottom together really hard when talking which is really sore! Hopefully will settle down. Good luck going back to work - I'm sure it'll be fine!

I just got braces this week too. It was really weird going to work the next day as I couldn't talk properly, and thought I sounded like an idiot. I've been told it gets better with time so fingers crossed i'll be back to my chatty self soon.

How are you finding week two? What did your workmates say?

Well today was my first day back and all i could think was my speech is weird. I think the more I thought about it the worse it got. I had a pretty important 2 hour meeting and was dreading it but no one noticed the brace.

I have been really lucky I think either that or my teeth finally feel like they have been rewarded but I have had little to no pain and have yet to use any wax.

I really just cannot wait to see some positive movement.
