Where did my overjet come from?

#1 Post by Kipepeo »

When I started treatment, like 4 million years ago, I had an extremely tight overjet and very little to no overbite. My top and bottom incisors rubbed when I bit down in a normal molar bite.

During this treatment I've noticed gaps forming and pretty early on I noticed quite an overjet forming. It just occurred to me today that the gaps and overjet are probably the result of the wires widening my arches. I can definitely tell they're wider, as my braces feel different on my lips when I smile.

I was concerned about wearing class 2 elastics as I thought where in the heck were these upper teeth going to go...but the extra overjet is now being slowly pulled back.

There's no point to this thread...I'm just enjoying orthodontic physics, since I'm not really enjoying orthodontic appliances!
