Re: Hi there!
Congratulations on starting your journey! I'm almost 3 months in - got them in mid-November. I'm one of the lucky ones. So far, I've had no pain and minimal discomfort yet have had a lot of movement.
Re: Hi there!
I got mine in November too but I can empathize with penniless! I have a 13 year old in them, now mine are on and in a couple of years I have twins who both need them too
Yay for getting them on soon

Re: Hi there!
I can't wait to get them on! They said I need braces on the bottom teeth too but do you think I can say I just want top ones for now? I haven't really got the money but have an overbite apparently although I never knew. I wish everyone well with their new teeth!! X
Re: Query about orthodontist
Hello, do you know if you have to have braces on upper and bottom teeth? I want them on just the top but ortho said I have an overbite and should have them fitted to bottom, but I dont think I need them there?! I'm sorry if this is confusing because it sounds confusing to me and I'm writing this! I can't really afford them and thinking it would save a lot of dosh!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help...

Re: Query about orthodontist
It is usually better to have braces on both the upper and lower jaw to get a good bite. Also, if your ortho decides you need elastics, then you would need braces on your lower jaw too to act as "anchors" for the elastics.Okate wrote:Hello, do you know if you have to have braces on upper and bottom teeth? There is usually no difference (or very little difference) in price between only getting braces on one jaw or on both.

Thankyou everyone x

Hello! I got mine on about a week and a half ago. So far so good. I've already seen movement on my bottom teeth! I need to upload pictures soon.
Re: Hi there!
Oooh I can't wait to get mine aswell! Do you know if your teeth move back to the way they were after even if you wear the retainer? I've heard horror stories about this and am freaking out.

Re: Hi there!
Welcome to the forum!
I got my braces in November. It amazing how much your teeth move in such a short space of time.
I'm not excited about being broke for the next 14 months, but it's nothing compared to the self confidence I'm going to feel when it's all over (and I start having money again)
Good luck with it!

Re: Hi there!
hey there! I did my moulds and xrays last week so this wednesday I get the results and plan .. so just a few days ahead of you! good luck!
Re: Hi there!
Thanks! How long after the xrays and moulds can we expect the braces fitted? I just want them on now and don't want to wait!!
Re: Hi there!
I guess it depends on what they decide after they get all the results from the xrays and molds put together and a plan made.. if you need extractions and such and when the extractions might have to happen? i don't know .. thats the part that is making me anxious waiting to see my ortho wednesday so then I will finally have a time line and moving forward. Right now I just feel like I am twiddling my thumbs lol
Re: Hi there!
If you wear your retainer like you're supposed to they shouldn't move back. You can also choose to have a permanent retainer bonded to the back of your front teeth (it sort of looks like braces wire) to prevent movement.Okate wrote:Oooh I can't wait to get mine aswell!
