48 hours to go....

#1 Post by klobird »

48 hours until I get my braces off---I am very excited, but I also feel like sick to my stomach and extremely anxious....this is not how I expected to feel!! But yes, I am counting down the hours--it's all I can think about...I'm even shaking....so weird!!!

And then off to Hawaii on Tuesday--my gift to myself for doing this!

(The pics will be on my braces blog--they will be coming from my orthodontist website--before and after pics. Kipepeo will be putting them on my blog when the ortho puts them up on my patient login....)

Thanks you guys--I can't believe I only have a couple more of the dreaded night time teeth cleanings. No more expensive floss, proxabrushes and wax. The new Essix retainer is going to be a learning process though....I'm glad I won't have to deal with it at work for the first week as far as talking weird at first!

Why do you think you're anxious (anxiety-like) about it? I think I'll feel that way too. I'm used to having these now.

Hey Amy--I think I'm anxious because I don't think they would ever be perfect enough for me. So, even if they're good now, I'm afraid to look. I'm afraid I will be crushed that I spent over $5,000 for what?....I know it's such a pessimistic outlook, and I should be thrilled that I'm getting them off, but I'm just afraid I won't like the way they look....and the really dumb thing about how I feel?----------THEY ARE A HUNDRED TIMES BETTER THAN WHEN I STARTED!

Someone knock some sense into me!!!

Well, I've never met Klobird in person, but I've seen the photos. Are they perfect? Define perfect? I will say that they are 100, maybe 110 times better. klo, I think you will be pleased in the long run. She has an awesome smile, and should be very proud and confident in it.

7 1/2 hrs to go!!! I only need to floss the hard way one more time! I don't even remember what it's like to eat without stuff being caught everywhere. It's like, when people eat lunch at work, I wonder how they can not brush their teeth afterward--don't they have junk in their teeth? I can't remember!!! Really!

Yes, I am getting very excited--about everything!

Klobird, how did it go?? I totally get what you meant about being scared they won't be good enough. I feel like I leave mine on forever, they'll always be improving, but there must be a critical mass point beyond which not much improvement can happen, right? :D (That's the part where I'm trying to knock some sense because I need it too)

Please let us all know how it goes. I'm imagining a big moment where light shines down from the heavens and you hear that "ahhhhhhh" sound with light music playing in the background, and you LOVE them more than you even thought you could.

They're going to look SO WHITE! And you can do all the whitening you want on them to make them even whiter. And when you keep brushing your teeth after meals and your coworkers still don't, you'll have glowy white perfectly aligned teeth that give off 4000 ANSI lumens.

Let us know how it goes/went!
