Banana

#1 Post by amyhenna »

Approximately four weeks into braces, I am just so eternally grateful for the banana.

1. It's easily portable, and comes with its own carrying case
2. It's soft, so it doesn't need to be blended to ease pressure on teeth while chewing
3. It's light colored, so it doesn't discolor ligatures
4. It tends not to get stuck in braces for some miraculous reason
5. It's light colored, so even if it were to get stuck on braces, it would blend with the teeth, ceramic braces, and clear ligs
6. It's filling
7. It's natural/ not processed
8. It's inexpensive, even when organic
9. It can be eaten in front of other people with no worries
10. It tastes great!!!

Bananas are a braced girl's best friend. (and probably a braced dude's best friend too)

8 weeks here, and no bananas yet. I desperately need a blender.

Lately, zip. I was doing okay for awhile, but lately I can't face another bowl of cream of wheat or applesauce. It is after noon here and I have only had a cup of hot cocoa and that's all so far. I am already sick and tired of pancakes and french toast. Last night I discovered over easy eggs. I'm not an egg fan but...

Mmm, I love bananas! Pretty sure I might be living on them when I get my braces on. :P

can you eat on your back molars? I have been, but in saying that I dont have brackets back there, just a molar band. I have been eating vegemite and cheese sandwiches like no tomorrow. I am in love lol. You could eat some soft bread with jam or peanut butter in it? and dont eat the crust?

I eat banana's but I cannot bite into them. I mash them up with a fork  kinda makes them taste sweeter too lol

I have soup today, it has bits in it, hope I can eat it. All I can say is I am struggling with my extraction holes being right where I eat, driving me insane! everything I eat gets stuck in the gaps! NOT COOL lol

I love bananas and always have. I have a banana, strawberries and blueberries every morning along with a slice of soft brown bread. Also, some boiled chestnuts. These are very soft and easy to eat.

Somehow I don't like bananas. They don't taste good to me.

I can't stand bananas - something to do with the texture, I think :-(

Once the first couple of weeks were over, I found that I could eat pretty much everything as before - steaks? pizza? - no problem. The only issue I have is that I can't bite, only chew, so I need to tear or cut all of my food up into manageable pieces.

I mash a banana into about 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt. Add a dab of honey and that's breakfast. Delicious and nutritious!

I LOVE BANANAS TOO! Though I have to cut them into little chunks or mash them up as I cant bite into them, takes the convenience out of them a bit!

I am SICK of soup, I have it everyday for lunch at work due to the sheer convenience of it and the fact its the easiest thing to eat in front of people! I MISS sandwiches so much!!!! :(

I so agree about all its benefits and they are super healthy, but I just can't get into them. I don't hate them really, just never crave them. Sometimes I'll buy a bunch and try really hard to eat one every day, but then they get forgotten and turn brown so I end up making banana bread.

Mashed potatoes and gravy is my go-to food after adjustments. :)
