Hey All!

It's vacation time for alot of us and was wondering if any of you were planning on traveling anywhere? Are there certain foods/experiences you're nervous about? Taking any special pics to remember your vacation time.

I'm traveling to Mexico in May and I'll be by the beach cutting into my favorite meal of all time with a knife/fork...the taco.Sadly, I won't be able to bite into it but at least I'll be able to chew on the meat by the time the pain from these powerchains wear off. One thing I do worry about is my waterpik. I'll be packing it and other dental gear in my carry-on luggage. Hopefully it doesn't get harmed/lost in travel or else I will go insane + I'm gonna have to buy a lot of drinking water to fill up it up during the week since I can't use Tap.

Hiya, I go to Cape Verde for 2 weeks on the 15th may. I have an appointment for tightening 2 days before, so hoping I can still be able to enjoy the all inclusive food and I am not too sore! .....I currently have turbo bites on my back teeth and when I first had them on my 'relaxed' face looked awful and I could hardly eat, they do wear down but am hoping that he doesn't put anymore on when I see him, if he does I will ask for him to delay it till after my hols as I really want to enjoy the food and not be self conscious with new people I meet and also I want to look decent in holiday photos!!
Also looking forward t getting elastics replaced for my holiday as the ones on now are a horrible yellow colour. :o

I was initially concerned that I wouldn't be able to scuba dive, but we decided to take a beach vacation sans the diving this year-That's not to say that diving is totally out of the question, but we are not going to any of our favorite dive destinations this year. Just chillin on the beach in Florida

I will be going to England for 5 weeks in July/August to visit my family. No one has seen these braces yet. I did buy my mum a waterpik for her birthday, little does she know that will be my saviour while I am there. So I will only need to pack my portable one that I carry in my purse in a ziplok bag for meals out. I am just a bit worried being gone for so long if something should happen. I did get medical insurance coverage, in case a bracket comes off or something. I will also have to check if they sell my mouthwash there if not I will take that. My toothbrush will plug into a pc or a laptop to charge. So I think that Iam all set. Just a bit nervous with the reactions I may get from family and friends when they see my brace face.
:?

I was just sitting here dreading some trips I have coming up. I have the Ultra Waterpik and wonder if I should downsize for travel. I would rather just stay home. :-+

I have postponed big vacations such as going abroad until I am done with my braces. (I have taken small vacations within the country.) I just don't want to carry all the dental junk with me. More than anything I would like to enjoy any food without worrying about my braces. When I take big vacations, I would like to feel completely free. Braces are such a mental burden as well as physical for me.

I am approaching 17 month mark. It is harder and harder since I turned around 12 month mark.

I just didn't worry about it when I went on holiday. Went on quite a few holidays last year and didn't take a waterpik with me, I just did my best with rinsing my mouth out with water every time I ate, mouthwash & my toothbrush. I've stopped snacking since having my braces anyway and just brushed my teeth as soon as I could after every meal. I loved it in Japan as everyone there was brushing their teeth in the toilets at lunch time anyway so I didn't feel out of place :)

So, I looked at smaller WaterPiks today since I do have some trips looming.

I could get the regular WaterPik (I already have the Ultra for home) the cordless or the cordless plus Waterpik.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

The cordless appears to have one speed and two different nozzles, the cordless plus has two speeds.

My trips are 3-4 days in duration but I will be flying and staying in hotels.

Hi, I use the pana * sonic portable, it takes AA batteries and works fairly well. Not as good as the ultra I keep at home, but does the job.
