Is an uneven bite unhealthy?

Hi. I've had to use elastics for about 3 years now if I'm not mistaken. I'm getting tired of this. I've recently (about 4 months ago) had to ask my orthodontist to change my elastics to a small size. I'm not sure if they would have had I not asked them. I'm starting to consider just leaving them as they are. I don't want to but there doesn't seem to be any change to my bite.

Should I ask for another change in my elastics? Should I ask if I should double them? Are there people who go throughout life with uneven bites? Is it hard for them to manage eating or talking?

Hello,

You've been wearing elastics for 3 years and still have an uneven bite? How much more time does you ortho suspect you will be in braces? Maybe you should consider another consult. That seems odd to me.

I am not sure an uneven bite will cause just issues with eating...I would ask about tmj or headaches.

Good luck!

I'm not sure how long I have (I always forget to ask) but I definitely will during my appointment that's coming up.
