I've had my brace on for about a month now and as soon as the bottom went on I could feel my top right canine hitting the bottom bracket on one side but thought it might just be because I was getting used to them. Now everything has settled down, there definately is a bracket clash going on one side which means my molars don't meet and its making it hard to eat. I've got my first adjustment on 2nd Jan but wondering if its worth going back earlier or whether that is going to be the bracket position and i just need to get used to it.
Any advice gratefully recieved!

Re: Clashing Brackets
You should definitely get this taken care of. Sounds like someone needs molar buildups
You don't want to have a bracket come off or chip a tooth...

Re: Clashing Brackets
I'm getting this too! How annoying is it!?
I've found concentrating on moving my jaw differently avoids the clash, but when I try to 'relax' my jaw (resting molars on molars), it hits that bracket and nothing is comfortable.
Let us know what your ortho says. I don't see mine again until the 9th of Jan.

I'm a bit reluctant to make a special trip as i dont think there is actually any room to move the bracket down anyway.
I'm adopted the same technique for eating and i just don't close my mouth if I can help it - major jaw ache sometimes though!

Re: Clashing Brackets
They may not have to move the bracket, but they can give you molar buildups or bite blocks to keep them from hitting. Both of you should really call your orthos and get this taken care of.

Re: Clashing Brackets
I second calling and getting in. You can chip your teeth on the brackets. I don't think you want that happening....I have molar build ups for that exact reason. Trust me, it will be a lot better than constantly hurting your teeth or jaw from keeping your mouth in a weird position. Good luck!!
