Yay! congrats and welcome to the club 
I know what you mean about that huge feeling, it does settle and yay for all metal!! (I have the same though i do not have the elastics as i have Damon braces)

It feels so weird when they are first on. Your mouth will adjust!

Thanks all.
Still doing fine.
Have used some wax right at the back on the top set - the big brackets were hurting my cheeks but fine now with the wax.
Have found a great way to get a good look at my braces when cleaning them - head torch!! I don't have a lit mirror & I can angle the head torch for upper/lower & left/right!! Great when using the interdental brushes etc.
Everyday is a learning experience! !

Congrats. The huge feeling will disappear in a few weeks as you get used to them.

scottr - my teeth are not bad, my braces are in prep for double jaw surgery.
have got a ortho appt on 21st jan so not long to wait for adjustment.
