Is this the last step before having your braces removed ?

I've had mine since the second adjustment. That was back in September.

No, not necessarily. I wore my first one for about 3 months and my second one for 1 month now.

Sorry but no. I've been in powerchains for about 10 months and I still have 6 more months at least to go. The upside is they do work really well! They can be sore for about 48 hours after they are changed though so be prepared with some Tylenol and pasta.

I just got a powerchain at my last appointment, only about 7 months into treatment. It's definitely not a sign that the end is near.

Thanks guys. I guess I got excited a little too soon. I was supposed to wear braces for 1 or two years and I've had them on since February of 2012.

The best person to ask about remaining treatment steps and time is your orthodontist. Even if powerchains were some sort of final step, it still would be a heck of a guess as to how long you needed to wear them.

I got mine since the second or third adjustment. I have been in power chains for more than 1 year and I think I will still need it until the end, which is hopefully two months later.

Got mine about 16 months in

I'm only 6 months in and have had powerchains, of and on, twice.

For me, I'm nowhere close to the end. But since you are at two years, maybe they are a sign you are nearing the end of your treatment. I'd definitely ask your ortho next time you're in.

This has been very helpful . I guess it all depends on everyone' teeth . Mine didint have any bad gaps , but as they moved brackets , changed wires, it caused bad gaping . Did any of you have to have your teeth reshaped to look more roundish / square ?

Ive had powerchains since day one. I'm almost done and now have them across all of my top teeth.

I've had power chains for the past 3 months and am half way through my treatment. They haven't caused me any extra pain but they do make cleaning a bit more difficult.

I am having my lower incisors reshaped so they will be uniform in the front. She did a little bit at my last adjust just to even it off a little. The rest will be done on debrace day.
