Inovation Braces

#1 Post by pjade1 »

I was wondering if anyone has the Inovation braces and how do you like them? That is what I will be getting, mostly metal but I will get 6 ceramic ones for the top teeth. It sounds like I will have them on for 30 months because of my overbite, overjet and a little bit of cross bite on one side. My teeth are really not that crooked though but I guess bites take longer to fix.

I have heard some good things about them, I cannot say from personal experiences. I have noticed on the ones I saw that they are comparable to Damons. They are self ligating, and use a door. The Damons look smaller to me, but it could be all smoke a mirrors :)

I have Inovation-c's on top and Metal Inovatoions on the bottom. When I first got the uppers, they seemed so big. I'm used to them now, but they are a big bracket. They are not noticeable in pictures but in person you can definitely see them. If I had it to do over, I would've gotten metal on top too. I was being vain. LoL!
They certainly did the job though! I'll be completing treatment in 18 months instead of 24 as was predicted.

Well, I opted to get ceramics for 6 of my upper teeth and the rest of the upper metal and metal bottoms. I saw a picture of one of the ladies husbands there with them done that way and they looked fine. I was told I would be in them for 30 months so we'll see if I get out of them sooner than that. I hope so.
07/14/14 - 4 spacers put in
07/25/14 - braces top and bottom put in minus 2 molar bands that they couldn't fit
9/11/14 - 2 spacers put in between the bottom back molars
9/19/14 - last 2 bottom molar bands in and all hooked up, new wire, started elastics too
10/14/14 - new square wire change and thick elastics
04/24/17 - braces removed!!!

I have innovation-c for both top and bottom. They're awesome, does not stain at all and durable (I brush very aggressively).

Apart from the obvious differences between conventional and self-ligating brackets, all the different brands are pretty equivalent unless you get something really funky like Begg appliances. The brand that ends up on your teeth usually is simply determined by the supply company your ortho has signed up with. Some are 3M, some are Ormco, etc.
