now that I'm 99% complete with braces, I wanted to have one of my lateral teeth be brought down because the edge was too crooked...so that when it came down, they can shave the edge so the tooth can look straight and not at an angle.
well...they brought down the tooth more than I wanted and I'm fine with filing it since thats what I wanted to do but I'll have to shave more than I planned on. and its not about the shaving I'm worried about, it's the fact that the tooth was brought down too much...I also didn't want them to push it back up because I assumed it's better to leave it where its at than to keep pushing and pulling which isn't too healthy for the root. it feels like I'm "wasting" root by them pulling it down too much but it's really only a millimeter.
should I be worried and/or go back to have them push it back up like half a millimeter or should I just file it that much?

Re: worried about pulling teeth down with braces
How do your gums look? If those are even; I wouldn't worry too much about the half mm.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

Re: worried about pulling teeth down with braces
Do you have to shave now? Can't you wait a half year or so? In my case, my teeth were pushed down while I was wearing braces. After I began to wear Hawley retainers, they came up a little bit to make my bite better.

my gums haven't been even from the beginning. that's why I'm getting gingivectomy done.Nozzelnut wrote:How do your gums look? If those are even; I wouldn't worry too much about the half mm.
