Tool needed

#1 Post by oldfart »

I have a posterior open bite (and other gaps) and want to measure the distance of the gap myself. Basically to track progress. Any suggestions on how to do this?

I don't know how to do it yourself, but my ortho does it for me, so ask yours! My overbite was 8mm and my overjet was .5mm at the start, but I have to wait for them to measure it again.

Playing Armchair ortho is so much funner than having to wait 4-6 weeks to ask.

Perhaps a stupid suggestion, but bite into playdoh once per week and take a picture of the "mould"?

Thats kinda what I do.. (but use Cheese instead of Playdoh). Cheese tastes a bit better.

A stack of popsicle sticks? See how many will fit when you close, then measure?
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!
