Hi all! It's been awhile since I posted. Had an adjustment yesterday and all I gotta say is OUCH! My teeth feel this morning like I just got them on! My ortho had been leaving my molars unwired in for the past couple of months to "take them out of play" to see what they would do. Well yesterday he extended my wires all the way to the back and added bite steps on my right side top and bottom. He is trying to bring my top right side down and bottom right side up to close my remaining open bite. I also am continuing to wear vertical elastics from canine to canine on both sides at night and then only on the right during the day. Originally when I started this journey my ortho said 12 months. I will have my 1 year anniversary in January and my ortho has not even mentioned any perspective deband date, which I am okay with. I am actually more scared to get them off. I am afraid that when they come off my bite will shift back and open bite and all of this will be for not. Plus I am not looking forward to retainers. I am to have a clear Essix one during the day but have a Hawley retainer with a tongue crib for at night. Going to feel super sexy for my hubby.
Does anyone else have debanding fears??
Bite is almost closed. Will post pics later.

I'm nervous about my deband too. Mine is December 5th. I'm scared that im not going to be as good with wearing my retainer and my teeth will shift too far for me to be able to fit into my essix :/ i have to really be focused

Put the Hawley on the nightstand and pop it in after kissing goodnight. (Assuming you still have the Essix in at the time, you might want to turn off the light first...) My wife and I both are on nighttime Hawleys and that's what we do.
