Worrying about my teeth after last adjustment.

#1 Post by lainii »

My two front teeth were practically the same length, and after this adjustment one tooth is a lot lower than the other one. Should I not worry about this? Will it get fixed? I have a closed coil spring on one part of my upper wire, could this be causing them to look uneven? :(

If it was your last week in braces; I'd worry, but if you're towards the beginning of treatment, your teeth might look worse or move into odd positions before they look better.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

Seems normal. I'm 4 months in as well and have had many changes in length and movement.

I'm on three months and some things seem worse. My top teeth seem to be sticking out and gaps have formed. I suppose things will turn out all right in the end. At least there will be an opportunity to ask about it at the next adjustment. No point worrying.

I woudln't worry about it, from what I've read things like that are common when having braces and it works itself out by the end of treatment.

You can always give your ortho a call if you are really concerned. Or ask at the next appointment, but it sounds normal to me at the stage you're at.

I think they can easily file them the longer down to match the other one i'm not sure if they do it during the treatment or wait until its over. I am pretty sure I will have the same problem once my teeth are straighter.

Whenever I had this type of concern I discussed it with my ortho who always took my concerns seriously. As many have said, sometimes things get worse before they get better. But you have the right, and the obligation to yourself, to have the discussion. What I can say is that the problem you are concerned about is probably easily remedied, either immediately or at some future time in your treatment. Sometimes brackets have to be repositioned or wires bent. It's all part of the process.
