Full power chains & eating

#1 Post by hummingbird99 »

Omg, I didn't know power chains back on my molars would be such a pain! I've had them across the front 6 teeth, but having them from back molar all the way to the opposite molar is driving me nuts...food is constantly jammed up in there. I guess that's one way to get me to brush consistently after every meal! :-)

Anybody else in full power chains?

I'm with you on this one. For a while I had two power chains on my top arch, one below the wire and one over it which created a perfect gripping device for food. I am back to one power chain on the top now but it's stil a bit of a pain.

I have full power chains on my lower arch...and on a few occasions, I've had to thread floss between the wire and the power chain to get debris out...Chicken seems to be the worst offender for me.

I had full power chains (7 to 7) on each arch for the better part of a year. The first week after every adjustment was a pain in the behind because I couldn't be able to eat anything other than soup for the entire week. I got in the habit early of rinsing my mouth after every couple of bites of food, so even with power chains it wasn't horrible with food getting stuck. ...Not saying it didn't happen, just not ALL the time...

Also consider getting a waterpik or similar device to water-blast your hardware. Makes life a lot easier.
