Heaviest archwire

#1 Post by Givemeariesen »

I am halfway through treatment and just went into 19s and 25s, which my ortho said would be the heaviest I have to wear. Thank goodness I got these after Thanksgiving. My teeth are very tender. I have been in a triangle elastic for about six weeks (got it on at my last adjustment). I am trying to tell myself this is the worst of it. I know I'll get heavier elastics and that will cause some localized pain, but my whole mouth is very sore with these new wires. Is this the worst of it? Or am I wishful thinking?

Every treatment plan is different and every mouth is different. Your ortho can at least tell you (roughly) what is in store for the remainder of your treatment plan.
